England’s countryside is in crisis. Housing in rural areas is more expensive than in cities and towns and often way beyond the means of many local residents. With many lower income earners and young people priced out of their home villages, I am concerned that rural England is becoming the preserve of the wealthy and the isolated elderly. That is why I am campaigning for more affordable rural housing.
The National Housing Federation has launched a nationwide effort to change the attitude of the decision makers on this important issue. They have produced an action plan which you can look at by clicking their logo:
I know there will be many of you with important views to express. Exmoor is a prime example of the affordable housing crisis.
But it is not the only place in this constituency with problems.
