OK. I admit it. We haven’t had a scorcher of a summer yet, but its early days. The weather has been mostly fine. But the views are as good as ever and the welcome visitors receive is second to none. Frankly why go abroad at all. Staying at home in Somerset this summer makes total sense. We have great beaches, wonderful walks, terrific food and a host of splendid things to do and keep the family entertained - even if it pours! I am certainly not venturing away too far. In my opinion you can’t get better than an expedition on Exmoor or a paddle in Porlock. We do tradition and modernity. We have homely B and B’s and luxury hotels too. The Somerset tourist offer is an absolute must - and I am pretty sure it will be a wonderful season for visitors and residents alike. Happy holidays!
