Tide Turning

12 January, 2017 by Ian

Tidal energy is a potential source of limitless power for the future. A former Parliamentary colleague of mine, Charles Hendry, was appointed by the Government to examine the pros and cons of the idea and make recommendations. His report is just out and it makes interesting reading. Much of the focus will now be on Swansea Bay, where one of the proposed schemes has been developed into a full business plan. But there are other local contenders too. A solid scheme has been suggested for Bridgwater Bay which also has the capability of generating a huge amount of electricity. Swansea may have been given the thumbs up but I want everyone to benefit from this important technology.
